24 Time Saving Google Reader Keyboard Shortcuts

24 google reader keyboard shortcutsGoogle Reader is a tool you must use daily if you would like to  become the trusted advisor to your target audience. The following 24 keyboard shortcuts will drastically improve your reader experience and save you tons of time.


  1. j/k – selects the next/previous item in the list
  2. space/shift-space – moves the page down/up
  3. n/p – in list view, selects the next item without opening it
  4. o – in list view, expands or collapses the selected item
  5. enter – in list view, expands or collapses the selected item
  6. s – stars the selected item
  7. shift-s – shares the selected item
  8. m – switches the read state of the selected item
  9. t – opens the tagging field for the selected item
  10. v – opens the original source for this article in a new window
  11. shift-a – marks all items in the current view as read
  12. 1 – displays the subscription as expanded items
  13. 2 – displays the subscription as a list of headlines
  14. r – refreshes the unread counts in the navigation
  15. shift-n/p – selects the next/previous subscription or folder in the navigation
  16. shift-x – expand or collapse a folder selected in the navigation
  17. hift-o – opens the item currently selected in the navigation
  18. gh – goes to the Google Reader homepage
  19. ga – goes to the “All items” view
  20. gs – goes to the “Starred items” view
  21. gt – allows you to navigate to a tag by entering the tag name
  22. gu – allows you to navigate to a subscription by entering the subscription name
  23. u – hides and shows the list of subscriptions
  24. ? – displays a quick guide to all of Reader’s shortcuts
